Summary: Calcific atherosclerosis is a major challenge to intraluminal drug delivery treatments in peripheral artery disease. We evaluated the effects of orbital atherectomy on intraluminal drug delivery to human cadaveric calcified peripheral arteries. Controlled calcific plaque modification with OAS resulted in greater drug permeability and improved adjunct drug delivery to diseased calcified cadaveric femoropopliteal arteries.
